GREEK FINANCIAL MARKET
The General Index in Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) closed at 952.34 posting profits of 1.68%, after five-and-a-half sessions of decline, in a turnover of €56.47mn.
According to the Euro Plus Monitor report, Greece has the highest overall grade of 8.2 in terms of fiscal adjustment.
The consumer prices were 1.6% lower in February than in January from -1.5% a year earlier, with prices falling across all sectors apart from transport, housing and alcohol and tobacco (ELSTAT).
- Cypriot Banks: The Cyprus President Mr. Nicos Anastasiades will visit Greece today. Mr. Anastasiades is due to meet the Parliament Speaker Mr. Evangelos Meimarakis and then the President Mr. Karolos Papoulias before holding talks with the Prime Minister Mr. Antonis Samaras.
- Companies for Privatization: The head of the privatization fund Mr. Takis Athanasopoulos resigned on Saturday, after he was charged with breach of duty for commissioning in 2007 the Aliveri power plant, which lost PPC about €100mn.
