GREEK FINANCIAL MARKET

The General Index in Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) closed at 1,158.24 posting losses of 2.69%, in a turnover of €103.89mn.

According to press reports, the Prime Minister Mr. Antonis Samaras is expected to write to cabinet members this coming week reminding them of the actions that each department has to carry out so Greece is prepared for the return of the troika in mid-September. Note that the government has to complete five more of six prior actions by August to receive the next €1bn sub-tranche of its bailout.

The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) publishes its May figures on industrial turnover today.

    • PPA: Employees at the Piraeus container terminal resumed work on Saturday morning after going on strike a day earlier to protest working conditions, representatives of Cosco.
